"Vision is painting a clear picture of the future that produces passion in the present."

Here are some helpful resources to begin the journey of discovering who God has made you to be and what He is calling you do to.

WHY VISION MATTERS

In Habakkuk 2:2, the prophet is told to “write the vision” so it becomes clear, enduring, and actionable.

Key Thought: A vision untethered from real life quickly fades. Writing it down (inscribing) transforms fleeting thoughts into enduring marks that guide us forward.

What Is Vision?
Vision is a God-aligned picture of a desired future. It cuts through ordinary perception, connecting our everyday realities with God’s higher purposes.

Proverbs 29:18 (KJV) reminds us: “Where there is no vision, the people perish.”
A well-articulated vision energises faith and focuses effort.

How does the Gospel fit in?
"All visions find their fullest meaning under Christ’s finished work."

Grace First: Our visions, goals, and plans flourish most when we’re rooted in the security of Christ’s finished work on the cross. We’re not earning love or acceptance from God through our efforts. Instead, we respond to God’s grace with purposeful action.
God’s grace meets you here—start fresh under the righteousness of Christ. Your future is secure in Christ, and His grace empowers you to dream big and follow through. By inscribing your vision—giving it a “home” and rooting it in Scripture—you’re placing yourself in a posture of faith and expectation. Keep running the race He’s set before you, step by step, day by day, and watch how God uses your surrendered vision to bless you and those around you.

Remember: You’re not merely chasing a personal goal; you’re partnering with the King of Kings. He’s the One who perfects our faith and gives us the strength to see it through (Hebrews 12:2). Take heart, envision boldly, and run with perseverance!

STEP-BY-STEP: RUN THE YEAR WITH VISION

1. Create Your Vision Board
Categories: Spiritual, Family, Work, Health, Personal Development, Ministry/Service.

Add Scripture: Infuse your board with verses that anchor each category in God’s Word (e.g., “Seek first His kingdom…” – Matthew 6:33).

2. Make It Plain & Manageable
Mini-Goals: Break each category into smaller, realistic steps.

Check-Ins: Schedule specific times to review and refresh your board or journal. Think of these as “water stops” in your run.

3. Build Accountability
Share Your Vision: Talk about it with a friend, spouse, or small group who can pray with you and speak encouragement.

Community Matters: We run this race together, so rely on those around you for motivation and gentle challenges.

4. Remember Your ‘Why’
Link to God’s Bigger Story: Ask yourself, “How does this goal further God’s kingdom or reflect His character?”

Heart Check: Keep your vision from being mere self-improvement by rooting it in God’s glory and the good of others.

5. Act & Revisit
Ongoing Process: Vision is not “one and done.” Keep running, even if you stumble.

Return to the ‘Tablet’: When discouraged, reread what you’ve written. Let God’s revelation refuel you.

HOW TO ‘WRITE’ THE VISION:

Begin Inscribing
Write or type out your thoughts so they don’t slip away.
Prayerfully ask God, “What are You stirring me to do or become?”
Make those ideas into something lasting: note them in a journal, collage them on a board, or outline them on a digital platform.

Give the Vision an Address
Whether it’s a physical board on your wall or a pinned note on your phone, choose a space you’ll see often.

Invite Divine Revelation
Ask the Holy Spirit to refine and shape your vision, aligning it with God’s heart and eternal perspective.

Build a ‘Vision Room’
Create an intentional space—like a corner in your room or a digital “vision folder”—where you protect and nurture these goals.

Express the Vision Creatively
Use Scripture, art, photos, quotes, or drawings. This clarity helps you (and others) see it plainly.

Look at It Often
Memorize your top aims or Scriptures that inspire you. Let them renew your mind daily.

Run With It
Start taking steps. Run steadily with perseverance toward the future God has shown you.
